I'm dedicated to continuing my study of music, in all aspects.
I play as many instruments as I can manage. I started with guitar and piano, then mandolin, then after many years of focus on those instruments, in 2023 I picked up the anglo concertina. More recently, in June 2026, I started learning to play the sheng.
I have a lot to say about music notation, music theory, and music education, but I haven't organized my thoughts yet. It might take me a lifetime. Every approach people have invented to reckon with music has dignity, and passion and innovation lead to worthwhile systems, but my dream is to create a system by which the reading and learning of music is most deeply connected to the mechanisms behind its beauty. For now, if this is of interest to you, I hope you will join me in imagining what this entails.
